Hi, Tom. I, too, am a life-long Idahoan, up the road in Boise. I occasionally connect to your site, and “the progressive voice.” I guess I’m in your corner, because I tend to agree with your viewpoint almost all of the time.
And as for that “progressive” voice? Well… her most recent entry (mid-December) is calling for government healthcare coverage for PETS! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Let’s elect her to the US Senate!
Oh well… if we all thought alike, the world would be a pretty boring place.
Tom, your piece about the Blaine school budget is interesting. I’m not sure where the $92-odd million figure came from, though. According to their online budget documents, the budget for 2010-11 is $55.7 million, down slightly from 2009 ($57.6 million). At 3318 students, that’s still $16,794 per kid – well over the state average. (But I’m sure their little dumplings deserve every advantage they can get in this mean old world.)
